Policy
|
This statement discloses the policies and privacy practices for the Chan Lawyers website. In an effort to build users' trust and confidence, Chan Lawyers promotes the principles of disclosure and informed consent. Chan Lawyers has a commitment to visitors' privacy and thus discloses its policies on data gathering, uses and sharing of information, cookies, and so on.
As the site develops Chan Lawyers may capture implicit information from users who visit our website for aggregate statistical analysis and site customization. Implicit information is data that can be gathered about users without having to explicitly ask a user for such information. Importantly, aggregate statistical analysis means that Chan Lawyers will review trends based on information as a whole, but will not do so in an effort to identify the individual identity of a visitor to the site.

Statistics
|
IP addresses may be logged to track a user's session. An IP address is the unique numerical identity of your computer. When Chan Lawyers "logs" an IP address, it means that the Chan Lawyers website associates a visit or series of visits to that unique numerical identity. Chan Lawyers may also use cookies to assist in aggregate statistical analysis and sometimes to provide site customization based on anonymous session tracking. In other words, Chan Lawyers will use cookies to determine trends for users as a whole, but not as means to learn about users' individual identities. Cookies, by themselves, cannot be used to determine the identity of users. On their own, cookies can be used to identify a computer, but not who is using that computer. Therefore, if Chan Lawyers customizes its website based on cookies, Chan Lawyers will not know who users are unless they tell their identity. In the final release of the Chan Lawyers web site, the site will collect the visitor's domain name (that the user is logged on from company.com, for example), referral data (the last URL a user visited before clicking to Chan Lawyers), as well as browser and platform type (a Microsoft browser on a Macintosh platform, for example). Chan Lawyers will also count, track, and aggregates the visitor's activity into our analysis of general traffic flows on our website (tracking where traffic comes from and how traffic flows within chanlawyers.com.au). If Chan Lawyers does present aggregated information to outside entities, no one would be able to identify or contact individual users based on such aggregated information.
